Not many woman can make a plunging thigh-skimming LBD dress look classy.
But not many ladies have the class of former child star Emma Watson on the red carpet.
And although the 23-year-old plays trash-talking criminal Nicki in
The Bling Ring, her outfit couldn't be further from ghetto as she
glided into a New York screening of the eagerly anticipated film on
Tuesday.
Opting for a simple black designer gown with chic black
shoes, Emma kept her ruby red pout perfectly in place as she made her
entrance. The eagerly-awaited film, based on a true story about a gang
of celebrity obsessed criminals who ransacked A-listers homes, is out
in the US on Friday
This project is a big deal for the British actress, she has already said she wants people to "see her in a different light"
- although we assume she means her acting skills, the costumes are some
of the raunchiest the university student has slipped into since she
started her career - scroll down if you don't believe us.
Emma's
character Nicki is one of the real-life group of teenagers who burgled
and ransacked the homes of their favourite celebrities – including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox – in 2008-9.
Nicki
is based upon Alexis Neiers who pleaded guilty to burglary charges and
was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with three years’ probation for the

In stills released from the Sofia Coppola film, which is out
in the UK on July 5 and US this Friday, Emma looks ultra leggy as she
reclines on a sofa in a fur coat - giving fans a sneak peak into the
decadent criminal nature of the film.
Without doubt, this latest
role has been an important one for Emma, who admits to a crisis of
confidence after Harry Potter finished.
“It’s called the impostor
syndrome. I’m just going: ‘Any moment, someone’s going to find out I’m a
total fraud.’ I can’t possibly live up to what everyone thinks I am.”
But
right now she’s just happy to be working. “I’m glad that a film like
this will help more people see me in a new light. I hope that journey is
going to lead to good things.”

The 23-year-old actress told Rookiemag.com that she has been in charge of her own education since she started out on ‘Potter’ when she was just 9 or 10, the New York Daily News reported.
The star said, referring to her university studies, that she liked the fact that she could design her own major and could even take independent studies if she wanted to, on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum.
Enjoying all the fanfare of the fest, Emma Watson appeared on "Canal+ TV" at The Martinez Hotel during the Cannes International Film Festival on Friday (May 17).
The "Perks of Being a Wallflower" star looked cute in a
white-and-black floral blouse and short black skirt as she prepared to
take the stage.
While promoting her new movie "The Bling Ring" during the event,
the 23-year-old actress spoke about a scene in the trailer where she
does a brief show on Paris Hilton's stripper pole.
Perhaps being a bit hard on herself, Emma shares, "If you watched the
film, I'm hardly a pro pole dancer. I actually look pretty bad doing
it."
Adding to the mounting evidence that she’s official a grown-up, Emma Watson looks super sexy on the cover of W Magazine's June/July issue.
The “Harry Potter” babe explains that while most teen girls can’t wait to reach adulthood, she was actually quite the opposite.
“I’ve never wanted to grow up too fast. I wanted to wear a sports
bra until I was 22! The allure of being sexy never really held any
excitement for me. I’ve never been in a terrible rush to be seen as a
woman.”
As for her wardrobe in the upcoming film “Bling Ring,” Emma declares
“Who wouldn’t love to go to work in Uggs and very low-slung tracksuit
bottoms? At one point I told the costume designer, ‘You can see my bra
strap in this top; shouldn’t we pin it?’ And she said, ‘No, sweetie —
Nicki (Emma’s character) is all about her bra strap showing.’ I was
like, Right, okay, different mind-set.”
