The singer took to Twitter to gush about her beau and his work with her fans, reported Us magazine. "Something VERY special is happening at midnight EST tonight on iTunes! My incredible, inspiring boyfriend John Mayer will release a spectacular record called Paradise Valley check it out here," Perry, 28, said

They going strong after facing some initial hiccups, which has made both Perry and Mayer, 35, more open about the relationship. They collaborated on their first-ever duet "Who You Love," just one week earlier.

"When you first read the reports about (the duet), you'll think that it's a gimmick... I love a good challenge and that's certainly one," he said in a recent interview with Billboard magazine.

"But the hope is you hear it once because of the curiosity and then you go, 'Wow, I really like that. I could find a place for hearing that a lot more'. It's a really fun opportunity for her to write, like, her answer to that. So, you get these two sides to this relationship that are brutally honest," Mayer said. The pair confessed their feelings for one another in the duet and revealed how they tried not to get too involved initially.

Mayer and Perry first dating shortly after she finalised her divorce from ex Russell Brand in February 2012 but the musical duo decided to call off their relationship in March 2013, only to reconcile two months later.

"He pulled away. That was a big hello for me. I realized I could lose the person I loved and I had to deal with some things, issues I think a lot of women have. You can be strong in one aspect of your life but submissive in another," Perry said in the September issue of ELLE UK.

It’s no secret that musical instruments can be quite expensive, so when 16-year-old Julie Fermin saw an Epiphone acoustic guitar on the wall at her local guitar shop, she figured it was out of reach.
However, moments later John Mayer walked in with Katy Perry and began chatting with Miss Fermin about her musical aspirations. What happened next was literally a dream come true.
Julie explained that Mayer asked her to point out her favorite guitar in the store. “I showed him, and he went over and checked the guitar's price. I said, ‘Yup, but I can't afford it,’ and he said, ‘Oh, stop it!’”
After she snapped some pics with John, Katy and her friends, Fermin said goodbye and remained in the store to let the shock wear off, though it wasn’t long before a worker came over to give her some exciting news.
“He told me, ‘Well, you should get more excited, because John Mayer just bought you that guitar!' I was so shocked. I started crying and screaming. I cannot describe all the emotions I felt at that moment. I just knew I was the luckiest and happiest person alive.’”
Following the encounter, Julie tweeted, “I never in my life thought I'd meet and get to talk to Katy Perry and John Mayer... I literally thought it was impossible. FOREVER MIND BLOWN.”

Let’s face it, every girl loves a musician – and when your boyfriend dedicates a song to you on stage, well it is destined to make you swoon.

And John Mayer did just that on Saturday night – opening his Born and Raised tour in Milwaukee with a glowing tribute to his girlfriend Katy Perry, 28.
The smooth-talking musician said his singer girlfriend was “more incredible” than he thought – high words indeed.
He went on to describe how Katy would talk for him early in their dating, when he was recovering from throat surgery and wasn’t allowed to speak – could they be any cuter?
Of course he didn’t mention there break-up in March – why would he?

Closer than ever

And despite publicly stating they were definitely no longer an item, Katy looked like she was more than happy to be back by John’s side last week.

And it wasn’t just that night they appeared cosy – on the Sunday, they were spotted at the Greenwich Hotel and Bowery Hotel in the city looking “cuddly and cute” together.
A source told E! News: “Katy definitely gave the impression that she and John are 100 percent back together.”
Last week, Katy gave a candid interview to Vogue magazine in which she spoke about her marriage to Russell Brand and her romance with Mayer.
She confirmed she was single (pull the other one, Katy!) and said: “I'm not in a relationship, I'm just on my own - I am myself in my own bed.”
But she also opened up about her feelings for Mayer and said: “I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind. Beautiful mind, tortured soul.”
Maybe one day you two will make up your minds!
