The couple want a "swift and amicable" end to their ten-year marriage, reported Sun online. "A divorce will proceed on the undefended basis, the decree nisi is to be pronounced on 31 July, and neither party will be making any financial claims against the other," a statement read.

The couple, who married in 2003, split after Saatchi was snapped grabbing Lawson's throat at a restaurant in Mayfair, central London.

He also received a police caution for assault. Mother-of-two Lawson, 53, is being represented by her cousin, celebrity lawyer Fiona Shackleton, who acted for Paul McCartney, Prince Charles and Madonna in their divorces.

Saatchi will represent himself. Saatchi made his 135million pounds fortune with the Saatchi and Saatchi advertising agency he formed with brother Maurice.

Lawson has made 8 million pounds selling cookery books. The rest of her 15million pounds comes from her cookware range and TV shows.

The multi-millionaire art collector had been spotted by the Sunday People meeting literary editor Susanna Gross at the same restaurant where he grabbed Lawson by the throat and sparked worldwide controversy, the Mirror reported.

A pal of the former public relations genius said it’s as if Saatchi views his wife like “a piece of art which has lost value” and which “he wants to move out of his warehouse”.

Lawson, 53, is planning to stand up for herself in a warts-and-all US TV interview on primetime American television.

Former advertising boss Saatchi is believed to have blame Lawson’s PR team for demanding an apology over the pictures, rather than allowing her to say in public what she told police that he has never hit her, the Mirror reported.

He further said that his wife had disappointed him in the last one-year and her silence after the recent allegations have hurt him. Saatchi insisted that he never abused her in any way and is against any sort of violence on women.

The multi-millionaire also claimed that his wife had been just as violent to him during their time together. He said that the incident that was photographed in the restaurant could equally have been Lawson grasping his neck as she had done in the past.
