Funnyman Adam Sandler wasn't laughing when he had this scare on safari
But this isn’t a kooky film plot but a tale from a family holiday – with video.
The 46-year-old regaled the (by now funny, at the time probably terrifying) story on the Late Night With David Letterman show.
Grown Ups 2 star Sandler told how when he visited a wildlife park in Africa he was told he could “feed the cheetah water with his hands” in attempt to connect with the wild animal.
Obviously Sandler's technique leaves a lot to be desired as the father-of-two was pounced on almost immediately by the wild animal.
Within seconds the cunning cat had jumped him, mauling his back.
“When he jumped on me, all I was going to do was let him eat me,” Sandler said.
Genial host Letterman praised Sandler’s cat-like reflexes and ability stay cool, to which Sandler replied: “I was just like, this is how I’m dying.”
