The tennis player had a posh dinner with his mum and girlfriend Kim, but it ended on a violent note
"Sign this book! With your eye!"
Andy Murray won that little-known tennis tournament called Wimbledon
at the weekend (someone might have mentioned it to you today, or
yesterday?) so, to celebrate, he took himself, glossy haired girlfriend
Kim Sears and his mum Judy out.
The trio went to London's posh
restaurant Nobu Berkeley ST, arriving around midnight and leaving at
3am. That's a late dinner! We've usually eaten ours by 7pm ...
But
on the way out, things went a bit wrong for Andy - as an enthusiastic
autograph hunter rushed towards him outside the restaurant, they smacked
Andy in the face with a book. Ow.
The tennis champ flinched away
but still got caught on the face, close to his left eye. Seriously, if
that'd been a tiny bit closer, he might have been blinded. Sharp corners
and all that. OUCH!
Andy looked even more miserable than usual - rubbing his face
as he drove home. It was probably really scary - there's nothing nice
about being hit in the face, is there?
It's been non-stop for
Murray since he won on Sunday - he only got 90 minutes sleep on Sunday
night, before heading to Number 10 to meet David Cameron, where he told the prime minister he wasn't sure winning Wimbledon meant he should be knighted .
Andy's
promised himself a holiday, telling reporters he wants to get away for a
week, but he's not sure where. Hey, maybe he should join Tulisa in Ibiza, that looks fun ?
“I
like pizzas and I like chocolate so I’ll have some chocolate. And I
like ice cream as well so I’ll have some of that. I’ve got four or five
days now where I can sit and do nothing," he said. Kim and that conspicuously naked left hand
“I’ll be enjoying the next few days and celebrating. Then I’ll go away, rest up and get ready for the US Open.
“I’ve
never had to defend a Grand Slam before and that’ll be a new experience
for me to look forward to. I want to go away on holiday and try to get
rest because the last few weeks have been tough, pretty stressful.”
He
also deflected questions about proposing to his girlfriend of eight
years, Kim. ITV’s This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby asked: “I’m
trying to think what your next challenge will be. You’ve had the US
Open, the Olympics, now Wimbledon, could it be popping the question?”
Andy replied: “I only met you, like, 10 minutes ago so I wouldn’t be telling you first.”
