Broadway and Glee star Lea Michele has released a statement
through her press representatives following the death of her co-star and
boyfriend Cory Monteith, according to People. Michele and Monteith had been dating for over a year.Monteith
died last weekend at the age of thirty-one due to a tragic accident
caused by a mixture of drugs and alcohol. His body was found in his
Vancouver hotel room. Earlier this year, Monteith had voluntarily
checked into a month-long treatment program for substance abuse.
Michele's statement, originally obtained by People,
reads in part, "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support
she's received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory's passing, Lea
has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate
arrangements with them…We continue to ask the media to respect the
privacy of Lea and Cory's family."
