Woop! Miley gets her first ever UK number one with We Can't Stop

The singer sold 128,000 copies of her new single in the first week. Which is approximately the number of pouty self-portraits she uploaded to Twitter in the same time frame

We're willing to bet that Miley Cyrus is quite happy right now. Because even though her fiance has revealed he hates her Twitter habits , and even after she had to take 90 per cent of her clothes off so that people would listen to her talk about her new album, Miley's debut single, We Can't Stop, has gone right in at number one in the UK Top 40 charts.
The song, which is taken from the singer's upcoming sausage-themed album, BANGERZ, has won plaudits across the music industry ever since its release, and seen stars such as Pharrell Williams and Nicki Minaj queue up in their welly boots for the chance to work with the former Disney star.

This is the least discreet way to show off your Chanel bag ever, FYI

Knocking Swedish Dj Avicii back down to number two following three weeks at the top of the charts, Miley shares the top five with the likes of Tinie Tempah, DJ Cedric Gervais and Robin Thicke. Which is pretty good company to be in, to be honest. They should probably all go for a celebratory cup of tea and a chat.
Of course, after watching the video several times in the office, we can't help but wonder how much of the single's sales are a direct result of Miley's dance moves. They're quite impressive, you see.
And hey, maybe all this success means that Miley won't feel like she to strip off to get attention in the future . Which would be nice. After all, it's quite cold today. And it's making our abdominal muscles droop with sympathy.
